East Herts Council is giving grants to deserving community groups to make their festive season go with a little more cheer.

Christmas party grant applications are welcome from anyone holding a party for the elderly and disabled between November 24 and January 6, paying £1 for everyone attending the celebrations.

The council has been running the successful scheme for the last eight years. This year £5,000 is up for grabs on a first come, first served basis.
